First, we must understand to study the bible properly, we must lean on the guidance of the holy spirit. The bible is a spiritual book with hidden wisdom contained therein. There are many in the world today who believe they understand the bible. However, they interpret the bible based on natural wisdom. However, studying the bible with natural wisdom will not profit us. We must unlock the spiritual wisdom of God’s word. To do this, we must listen to the spirit of God. There are many different denominations in Christianity today. Many of these denominations stem from improper bible study.

The bible also tells us, we must rightly divide the word of truth in bible study. How do we divide the word of God. We divide the word of God by keywords. To study the bible properly, we must participate in keyword study. To do this, we look for certain words in bible passages. We then use a concordance to find this word in other scriptures. We then study the verses with the keywords contained therein. This helps us to see what God is really trying to tell us. We must study the word of God with the dictionary of God. This means we cannot define the words in the bible based on our natural wisdom. We must look to the scripture to see how God defines certain words. For example, careful bible study will reveal to us that fire in the bible represents the holy spirit. Therefore, when we see the word fire in the bible, we know it is defined as the holy spirit on many occasions. We cannot define fire as what we know naturally. The same applies to many words in the bible. With careful bible study, we also realize stealing also means climbing up any other way than through faith in Jesus. This is found in John 10:1. God defines the words he has used in the bible. If we use our natural knowledge, wisdom, and definitions, we will misinterpret the word of God. Many attempt to study the word of God with natural wisdom. By doing this they misinterpret the word of God. We cannot possibly understand the word of God with bible study from a natural mindset. The bible tells us the natural man receiveth not the things of the spirit of God. We must understand that God has hidden his word using spiritual meanings. Those who study the bible for natural meanings, miss the intended spiritual meaning. We must study the bible to try and understand how God defines each particular word.

The best bible to use is the King James Version when studying the bible. Many try to study the bible using different translations. However, many translations actually hide the spiritual truth of the word of God. To understand particular verses, we must perform keyword studies. When the keywords have been changed, we cannot find how God defines certain words. We must be able to perform keyword searches for proper bible study. When the keywords have been changed, this becomes impossible. The best scenario would be to learn the original Greek and Hebrew languages. Then we could study the bible in it’s original language. The KJV is the best English language bible for keyword bible study. The KJV can be used with a concordance for original keyword studies. The concordance will allow us to see the original word in the original language. This allows us to find related passages of scriptures based on keywords. I suggest using the KJV when studying the bible. However, even with the KJV, the bible can be misinterpreted. The spirit of God is of most importance when studying the bible.
